Forest Officer Examination IFS 2012 By UPSC


INDIAN FOREST SERVICE EXAMINATION (IFS) 2012 By UPSC   
A competitive examination for recruitment to the Indian Forest Service will be held by the UPSC Union Public Service Commission commencing from the 14th July, 2012 in accordance with the Rules published by the Ministry of Environment and Forests in the Gazette of India dated the 14th April, 2012

Candidates to Ensure their eligibility for the examination:-
Candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfil all Eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree of any recognized University with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry and  Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an  equivalent qualification.
Verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents is taken up only after the candidate has qualified for Interview/Personality Test.
Physical Standards : Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Indian Forest Service Examination, 2012 as per regulations given in Appendix-III of the Rules for the Indian Forest Service Examination, 2012 published in the Gazette of India dated 14th April, 2012.
Application Fee: Candidates applying (excepting Female/SC/ST/PH candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net Banking facility of SBI, State bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit card.
Special Instructions: Candidates are advised to read carefully “Special Instructions to the Candidates for Conventional Type Tests” (Appendix III).
How To ApplY: Candidates are required to apply online only by using the website www.upsconline.nic.in Brief instructions for filling up the online Application Form have been given in Appendix-II. Detailed instructions are available on the above mentioned website. Last date of  Submission of  application is 14th May, 2012 till 11.59 PM after which the link will be disabled.h
